Hey friends!
It’s that time of year! Snow is falling, Christmas music is playing and the hot cocoa is warm. As frustrating as the cold can be – and trust me I would know, I live in Wisconsin – the holiday season is truly magical. This time is so special and trust me, you’ll love the chilly season even more if you fully embrace the holidays!
I’m a huge fan of any fall or winter scented candles. Anything oak, pine, balsam, or warm apples and leaves are my go to scents. I had seen Christmas scented simmer pot recipes and videos floating around Instagram and Tik Tok and not only did they look beautiful but I loved that it was an easy and natural way to fill your home with the holiday season. I had to give it a try!
Directions:
Wash all produce
Slice oranges and apples
Add in ingredients to pot
Bring water to a simmer in a pot
Let sit on low and enjoy the scent!
Ingredients:
4-6 cups of water depending on the size of your pot
2 oranges
2 apples
4 Cinnamon sticks
1 cups of fresh cranberries

Simmer pots are completely customizable. Use my ingredients as a guide but get creative with it! You can add in clove, balsam pine branches, vanilla, opt out of the apples, or less cinnamon if you’d like. The options are endless! I would say start with less and add more of certain ingredients if you want a stronger scent of something. I wanted a strong cinnamon scent to mine so I ended up adding more cinnamon after.
This simmer pot idea is incredible. This was my first time trying a simmer pot so I was skeptical as to how strong the scent would actually be and it really surprised me. The pot truly filled my entire apartment with the smell of the holiday season – cinnamon & apples with a hint of citrus from the oranges. It was amazing. I made my simmer pot in the early afternoon and it lasted all day on low heat and all through our Christmas movie marathon that night.
